I cannot believe that the summer is almost over and a new academic year starts here in Florida!. This year will be a grrreat year for all of us and I will bring you fresh books to read and hands-on activities that you will definitely enjoy.
But first of all, here there are some tips that will help you to become a better reader.

AUGUST RECOMMENTATION: THE KISSING HAND by Audrey Penn

Audrey Penn is the author of this nice story. When little Chester, a young raccoon, is scared to leave his mother and go to school, she gives him something that makes everything alright. She kisses his palm and tells him that the kiss will help make school as warm and nice of a place to be as home is. When Chester begins to feel lonely or scared, he presses his hand to his chest and feels the warmth of his mother’s kiss in his heart.
Think and answer!
v  BEFORE READING.
·         What is the mother raccoon doing to the baby raccoon on the cover?
·         Why do you think she is doing that?

v  AFTER READING.
·         Where does Chester want to stay? Why?
·         What does Mrs. Raccoon tell Chester?
·         What did Mrs. Raccoon do to Chester’s hand?
·         How did Mrs. Raccoon named this?
·         What does Chester when he feels lonely and needs loving from home?
·         Does the kiss stick on Chester’s hand?
·         Before going to school, what does Chester give to Mrs. Raccoon?

Ø  Friendly Letter: Write a letter to Chester encouraging him to go to school.

Ø  Make a kissing hand and give it to the person who makes you feel safe and cheerful.

Con retraso, sólo achacable al administrador del blog, comenzamos la publicación de las recomendaciones mensuales de lecturas en inglés. Espero ponerme al día durante la semana entrante. Disfrutadlo.
Muchas gracias a María Signes por su trabajo.
